ICT and BIU are one of the Ministry’s divisions that deal with two major tasks:

1. Cargo and Copra Monitoring (BIU)
The special unit called Business Information Unit (BIU) deals with Grain Suppliers for importing of Grain from Overseas and keeps updates with issues that might be faced by the supplier for their shipment delays.

BIU also deals with the Island councils for their updates on the Grain status, which is monitored carefully by recording this in their database and updating the website analysis report for the Grain Status.

Also, deal with the Internal shipping agency for alerting them that they should arrange their voyage for the islands that are expected to face the least shortage.

Deal with the Copra Coordinator at Outer Island to submit their copra stock for arranging a collection.
